Purpose Statement-As brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to invite (evangelism) people to know Christ, to build (discipleship) a community (fellowship) of faith and to serve (ministry) all in love to the glory (worship) of God!

The student ministry at Palm Valley Lutheran Church exists for five purposes.  These purposes are Evangelism, Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship and Ministry.  It is in these five purposes that students are able to encounter Jesus for the first time or take the next step in growing deeper in their faith.  Whether you are a student, a parent of a student, or someone who wants to help out with students we definitely have a place for you in our ministry.

Youth Fusion-Wednesday Night Bible Study - One of the most important parts of our Wednesday Night Bible study is small groups. In the small groups the students answer questions based off the lesson for that night. It is during the discussions that one can see how the students are growing in their faith and their relationship with Jesus. It is great to see how God is working in the lives of the students.

The Youth Cafe' serves Pizza, Hamburgers, Corn Dogs, Soda's, Tator Tots, Chips, Ice Cream and more.  Three dollars will provide you with more than enough money to get what you want. Note Cafe is closed during the Summer.  MENU & PRICES

While the cafe' is open students can play basketball, ping pong, four square, throw the football, play video games in the youth hut or just hang out.

After the Cafe' closes the Bible study begins which normally includes an activity and then small groups to help students discuss what was just taught.

Events

What is youth ministry without fun? Throughout the year we have different events that happen outside of Wednesday night and Sunday morning.  These events include  bowling, Putt-Putt, Lock-Ins, Game Nights, Round Rock Express Games, Schlitterbahn, Pool Days, Breakfast Tacos on Easter, Summer Camps, Mission Trips.

Youth Council

The youth council is made up of sponsors and students who meet together to seek God for the direction he is leading the youth ministry.  It is in these meetings that we plan and put on the various events that the youth ministry does.

High School (9-12th grade)

There are some events that only the high schoolers are involved with.  These are:

Senior High Gathering

This event occurs annually from December 28-30th.  At this event students from all over the Southwest Texas Synod gather to worship, pray, be taught, have fun and grow closer to Jesus.

Summer Camp and Confirmation Camp

Students in grades 9-12 have the option of attending a week long summer camp.  Though these dates change what doesn't is the ropes course, horse riding, swimming, hanging out and just plain fun.  This week will challenge each student as they grow deeper in their faith with Jesus.

Students who just completed the 9th grade have the option of going to Confirmation Camp with Pastor H. Here the students start to learn the basics of Luther's Small Catechism.

International Mission Trip

Offered to students who have completed the 9th grade and up this trip is promised to be a life changer.  As students get away from the comfort of living in the USA they will be able to see the world in a whole different way and realize that God can use them to share the gospel around the world.

Mission trip to Mission Arlington

For those students who have never been on a mission trip or are not ready to go outside the USA then this trip is for them.  At Mission Arlington students are able to help with the poor and less privileged as they experience and realize they can have a direct impact on a person's life right here in Texas.

Confirmation for 9-10th grade

Confirmation is offered to those students who are in 9th or 10th grade.  The 9th graders go through an entire year learning an overview of both the Old and New Testaments while 10th graders are taught Luther's Small Catechism.

Please refer to the Confirmation web page for schedules posted each year.

Sunday School at 10am in the Youth Hut

Sunday school is offered from 10-11am in the Youth Hut.  They are taught from the Student Life Bible Study Curriculum which seeks to provide relevant teaching on the issues that students face all while providing sound Biblical teaching.
