Prayer Ministry for Soldiers

PrayFAST is a prayer ministry based at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX.  It is an initiative sponsored by the Fort Hood Garrison Chaplain and Pray Hood.  The ministry reaches out to soldiers at their deployment to offer to have someone pray for them while they are away.  One Soldier - One Prayer Volunteer prays for the soldier, by name, every day while the soldier is deployed.

Palm Valley Lutheran Church joined the program about a year ago. At this time we have about 35 people enrolled in the program to pray for soldiers.  If you would like to pray for a soldier, please contact Pat Steger at PVLC to fill out the form and sign the Privacy Statement.

While many soldiers already have a good support system of family, friends and churches, many do not, and PrayFAST tries especially to reach these young soldiers. The PrayFAST initiative began in 2003 and the program has spread, mostly by word of month, to 196 churches in 35 states.

This is not a pen-pal ministry; this is a prayer ministry.  Usually the soldier will not know who is praying for him/her - only that someone has volunteered and committed to pray for that soldier daily.  This is a very busy time at Fort Hood as many, many soldiers are being deployed now.  That means that more prayer partners are needed.

Please prayerfully consider becoming a part of this vital ministry.   Most prayer volunteers comment that the soldiers are not the only ones blessed by this program.
